Level 1 The original creators got to go on a set tour and trip to Africa where it was filmed courtesy of the production. level 1 Yeah the trailers haven't given me much hope that it won't just be a very standard action movie but the fact that Valiant is actually getting a live action theatrical movie is so cool. level 1 I was reading an article about the impact of the coronavirus on the worldwide box office and how most major blockbusters are having their international release dates delayed. Bloodshot was cited as one that might have its global release date moved because of its reliance on Vin's popularity in China. That might end up being a good idea? I can't imagine this movie doing well domestically, though I know its success would mean better things for Valiant's future. level 1 The creators are super stoked, they've been on set and been posting about it on their socials a lot level 1 I think its awesome! Doesnt mean i think the movie will be good. Im a big Bloodshot fan from the 90s so this is amazing to see. Ill be there opening night even if it blows. level 1 I’m psyched for Bloodshot. Can’t wait to go see it. level 1 Sorry for my ignorance/absent mindedness, but what is SEA? My first thought was Seattle, but that doesn’t look like Seattle to me. level 1 I just hope it does well enough to get a (better) sequel.

Synopsis [ edit] After he and his wife are suddenly assassinated, Marine Ray Garrison ( Vin Diesel) is reborn by a team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he struggles to recall anything from his previous years. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally felt. Jeff Wadlow was hired to write the screenplay. [3] In April 2015, Sony Pictures, Original Film and Valiant announced a five-picture deal to bring Valiant Comics' superheroes to the big screen, including Bloodshot. Chad Stahelski and David Leitch were hired to direct the film, from a screenplay by Wadlow and Eric Heisserer. [4] Stahelski and Leitch eventually passed on the project. In March 2017, Dave Wilson was announced as the director of the film. [5] Screenwriter Adam Cozad later contributed to the script. [6] Casting [ edit] In July 2017, it was reported that Jared Leto was in early negotiations to star in the film as Bloodshot, [7] but in March 2018, it was announced that Vin Diesel would portray the main character. [8] By May, additional cast members were announced, with Sam Heughan, Michael Sheen, and Eiza González. [9] In June of the same year, Talulah Riley and Alex Hernandez were cast in the film to play the titular characters' wife named Gina, and member of a scientist team named Tibbs, respectively. [10] Later, Toby Kebbell and Johannes Haukur Johannesson were both cast in villainous roles, with the former playing Axe. [11] [12] In August 2018, Lamorne Morris was hired to play a young scientist named Wilfred Wigans. [13] In the same month, it was reported that Guy Pearce was in talks to replace Sheen, who had to exit the movie due to scheduling and family conflicts. [14] Filming [ edit] Principal photography began on August 6, 2018 in Cape Town, South Africa, and in Prague, Czech Republic, with some filming taking place in Budapest, Hungary in that same month. [15] [16] Filming officially wrapped on October 25, 2018. [17] Marketing [ edit] The first trailer for Bloodshot was released on October 21, 2019. [18] It featured Johnny Cash 's cover of the song " Memories Are Made of This ". Release [ edit] Bloodshot is scheduled to be released on March 13, 2020, by Sony Pictures Releasing, after previously being scheduled to release in February 21, 2020. [19] It will also open in the UK and Ireland on the same day. [20] Future [ edit] Intended to launch a new shared cinematic universe of Valiant Comics superheroes, Bloodshot will be followed by four movies inluding: a sequel, two films based on the comic book series Harbinger, and a culmination in a crossover titled Harbinger Wars. [4] All five films will be produced by Dinesh Shamdasani, Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe. The films will be joint-productions with Valiant Entertainment, and Original Film involved. [21] Initially, scheduled to be the first installment in the franchise, development of Harbinger was delayed in favor of releasing Bloodshot first. In June 2018, it was announced that a film centered around Faith Herbert / Zephyr was also in development, with a script from Maria Melnik. The film will be a joint-venture production between Sony Pictures, Valiant Entertainment, Original Film, and DMG Entertainment. Moritz, Jaffe, and Dan Mintz will serve as producers.
